A striking 9” original handmade embroidery hoop inspired by the beauty of the Scottish landscape. Inspired by a trip to the Falls of Shin back in 2020 this one of a kind embroidery hoop captures the beauty that floods your senses and draws your eye to so many unique details of the falls. From the crashing sounds and white noise effect of the waterfall to the churning foam below to the foliage and surrounding greenery with textures, patterns and colours that can only be seen here in Scotland.
Through this original embroidered design, I wanted to capture the intensity of the falls and how it felt to be absolutely surrounded by beautiful views and scenery. I have drawn out strong and vivid colours of greens and yellows to represent the trees, greenery and foliage, and packed this piece full of stitching using different techniques to capture the dense composition and textures of the falls.
